7 Nights 8 Days Tibet Tour with EBC (Fly in Fly Out)

After an early breakfast, You leave Kathmandu in the morning in Top of the TOP OF THE WORLD ADVENTURE’s private jeep or land cruiser for Kerung. This is a Tibetan border town. The Tibetan guide will meet the group on arrival at the check post and we drive on further road climbs and climb up to Kerung.

After an early breakfast, You drive to the highest plateau in the world with typical rural landscapes offering the utter feeling of being on the roof of the world as we cross over the 5,050 meters LALUNGA pass, from where you can view the breathtaking mountain range of Mt. Cho Oyu at (8,201m) Mt. Shishapangma (8,012m) dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau (these views are only possible if weather permits).

You wake up early in the morning at 4 am to trek to Everest Base camp and after enjoying the time there you head down to Shegar and continue our journey. To reach Shigatse with its huge Thangka wall which is clearly visible from the north side of the road. Your scenic drive through the highest point of Gyatchu La pass at (5,220m) brings you en-route to Lhasa via Shegar.

After breakfast you enjoy morning sightseeing of the Panchen Lama’s Tashilunpo Monastery & the free bazaar of Xigatse. You then drive through Tibet’s biggest Agricultural fields to Gyantse and visit the Khumbum Stupa and Phalkot Monastery

The drive to Lhasa takes around 8 hours, crossing 2 passes, the Karo La (5010m) and Khamba La (4794m) pass and Lake Yamdrok Tso (Turquoise Lake). You will cross the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra) river and see far off views of the Potala Palace.

Today after breakfast, you will visit the most famous Potala Palace according to the time of ticket and in peak season, there is a visit time limitation. Potala Palace is the winter palace of the Dalai lama. It has been put into use since the 7th Century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of Potala Palace are the gilded burial stupas of former Dalai Lamas and meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. In the afternoon, you will head to Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside you can see the statue of Buddha Sakyamuni at the age of twelve. Outside, you can see pilgrims making prostrating in front of Jokhang Temple. Around the temple is Barkhor Street, where you can do Kora with pilgrims and locals and explore the old market.

After breakfast, you will leave for Drepung monastery, located about 10km to the north of Lhasa. Drepung monastery is one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet with Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery. In the Afternoon, you will visit Sera Monastery, another one of the “great three” Gelug monasteries of Tibet, home to over 600 monks. The hot attraction is the Monks debate at around 3 - 5 in the afternoon from Monday to Saturday.

Today, you fly back to Kathmandu after our short tour. You can rest and relax throughout the day at our hotel or get in touch with our loved ones. In the evening you celebrate our successful journey to Tibet and back with a farewell dinner by TOP OF THE WORLD ADVENTURE.
