About 19 Days EBC Trek via Jiri
The Everest Base Camp trek via Jiri(1905m) is the most classic and best way to do the Everest trek. In this trek, you will be following the footsteps of the old route which was followed by some great Everest expedition groups in the late 1950’s including Tenzing Norgay, Sir Edmund Hillary and others.
It is a 19-day trek which heads eastward through the beautiful forested hills of the Solu area where monasteries and uninterrupted mountain views lie. The portion of the trek from Jiri to Lukla is commonly uncrowded and so far better for the trekking route. The varying altitude throughout the trek leads from the lower hills to the high Himalayas, where you will follow the Dudh Koshi river to join the main Everest trail below Lukla. Once in the Khumbu region, the mountain views improve with every step with Mt. Kwangde, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Kantega and of course the summit of Mt. Everest itself. Then with the benefits of increased fitness, we make the ascent to Namche Bazaar. From Namche, the trek follows the Gokyo Lake to Everest Base Camp then flies out from Lukla to Kathmandu, ending the 19 days trip.
