Tour Overview

The journey begins with a charming drive along the Trishuli River through Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubesi, the entrance to Langtang National Park, from Kathmandu. From Syabrubesi, you hike northeast across rivers and glacial moraines to the Lama Hotel (2,240 m) and Langtang village (3,430 m), and then ascend to Kyanjin Gompa (3,850 m). After an acclimatization hike to Tserko Ri (5,023 m), the trail continues east through Thulo Syafru and Sin Gompa into alpine pastures, culminating at the holy Gosaikunda Lakes (4,460 m). Crossing Lauribinayak Pass (4,610 m) leads to the Langtang Gosaikunda Valley, which descends into the Helambu region. Ridge trails that pass through Ghopte, Chisapani, and Sundarijal lead back to Kathmandu.

WHY VISIT GOSAIKUNDA LAKE AND TREK THE LANGTANG VALLEY?

  • Sacred high-altitude pilgrimage: Gosaikunda Lakes are revered by Buddhist and Hindu pilgrims, especially during Janai Purnima.
  • Cultural immersion: Visit traditional Tamang and Sherpa communities, mani walls, yak pastures, and Buddhist monasteries.
  • Wide-ranging views of Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), and other peaks are among the breathtaking scenery.
  • Experience a range of ecosystems by trekking through high passes, rhododendron and oak forests, alpine meadows, and glacial moraines.
  • Off-the-beaten-path: You will always be alone on remote paths because there are a lot fewer hikers than on Everest or Annapurna.
  • Tea-house comfort: Reputable lodges provide Nepali food and friendly service at every turn.

TREKKING WITH GOSAIKUNDA LAKE IN THE LANGTANG VALLEY THE COST

Prices vary depending on the season, level of service, and size of the group. THINGS TO EXPECT WHEN TREKKING

Trekking five to seven hours a day on rocky, uneven paths that progressively rise to 4,610 meters is to be expected. The accommodations are basic tea houses with twin rooms, shared bathrooms, and local food such as dal bhat, momos, and soups. Because the weather can shift from warm valley sun to cold winds, snow, or rain near passes, it is imperative to wear layers of clothing and waterproof equipment. The itinerary includes a controlled ascent profile and acclimatization stops to mitigate the symptoms of altitude sickness, which can occur above 3,500 meters. Water purification tablets and a first-aid kit are provided for the duration of the trip.

This immersive, unorthodox Langtang Valley Trek with Gosaikunda Lake combines Himalayan views, vibrant cultures, and sacred landscapes.
