Yala Peak Challenge and the Langtang Trek

This hike blends scenic hiking with high-altitude adventure. Because it is considered moderate, the Langtang Valley section is an excellent starting point for fit beginners. But climbing Yala Peak is more challenging and does require endurance, altitude adaptation, and physical fitness.

On average, you will trek for five to seven hours every day. Before reaching alpine and glacial regions, the trail meanders through beautiful forests and open meadows. When you get closer to Yala Peak Base Camp and the summit, the terrain gets steeper, rougher, and depending on the season, there might even be snow. You will definitely notice the elevation at 5,520 meters.

No previous mountaineering experience is necessary to climb Yala Peak, and our certified climbing guides will give you the tools and guidance you need for a safe and enjoyable climb.

Sickness at High Altitude

There are parts of this hike above 4,000 meters, so altitude sickness could be a problem. It's critical to be mindful of your body and take precautions when you raise the elevation.

Here are some ways that we can assist you in lowering the risk:

  • The itinerary includes acclimatization days to allow for a gradual ascent.
  • We recommend that you maintain proper hydration, eat a balanced diet, and take breaks as needed.
  • Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco when hiking.
  • Above all, if you're feeling sick, always let your guide know.

We spend more time at Kyanjin Gompa before the climb to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Our guides have been trained in high-altitude first aid and carry basic medical supplies.

Altitude sickness is frequently accompanied by headaches, nausea, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath, difficulty sleeping, and appetite loss. Your safety is our first priority, so please let us know if you experience any of these.

Let us handle the details so you can focus on enjoying the amazing views and the thrill of reaching Yala Peak.
