This trek immerses you deeply into Tamang culture — a Himalayan community with rich Tibetan roots. You’ll stay in homestays and community lodges, enjoy cultural performances, explore ancient monasteries, and get a firsthand look at local customs, festivals, and traditional farming. It’s a unique opportunity to connect authentically with the Tamang people and their way of life.

Although the trek stays below 3,200 meters, altitude sickness can still happen. We recommend drinking plenty of water, ascending slowly, and listening to your body. You’ll stay in comfortable community-run lodges and homestays, which provide not only a place to rest but also a chance to engage with local families. Meals are traditional and locally sourced, giving you a taste of authentic Nepali and Tamang cuisine. Breakfast is included during your hotel stay in Kathmandu; meals during trekking are typically at teahouses and homestays and are not included in the package.

Pack layers for variable mountain weather — including warm clothing for cooler nights and lighter clothes for daytime trekking. Don’t forget sturdy trekking boots, a rain jacket, sun protection, a hat, water bottles, and personal toiletries. A small daypack for essentials and a camera for those breathtaking views are also must-haves.
